Chicago Blackhawks star forward Patrick Kane has either put his nightmare offseason behind him or he's using it as motivation to fuel what is shaping up to be a career year. Kane, already viewed as one of the game's elite, has played like a man possessed through 28 games this season for the defending Stanley Cup champions. Not content to just break Bobby Hull's longstanding point streak record for the Blackhawks, Kane extended his own streak by another game on Tuesday, surpassing Hull's mark at the same time as he reached a significant career milestone.

Kane, known for his electrifying scoring plays, didn't need much razzle or dazzle to clinch his 600th career point, a feat he managed in just 604 career games, meaning Kane, still just 27, has been scoring at almost a point per game pace for his career. He's now sixth amongst active players in points per game (.993).

Late in the third, with the Blackhawks holding a comfortable 3-1 lead, Kane carried the puck to the neutral zone and deposited it into the Nashville Predators' empty net.

Over his now 23-game scoring streak, Kane has 14 goals and 37 points, per Sean Lehy of Yahoo Sports' Puck Daddy. Considering the tumultuous offseason he faced - he was accused of rape by a woman he met at a bar in downtown Buffalo - it's amazing that Kane has been able to shake it off and return to and even surpass the high level form he'd shown since entering the league in 2007.
