The Johnny Football era continues!

After a brief hiatus due to disciplinary reasons, Johnny Manziel has once again been named the starting quarterback for the Cleveland Browns (2-10). He will face off against the San Francisco 49ers (4-8) this weekend.

Cleveland made the announcement earlier today following Austin Davis' underwhelming performance against the Cincinnati Bengals (10-2) this past weekend. Manziel had initially replaced the injured Josh McCown in the starting lineup, but lost his job for lying to the Browns coaching staff about his bye week partying antics.

"Johnny will be our starting quarterback on Sunday," Browns coach Mike Pettine said in a statement. "He's been solid in the building over the last couple of weeks and we are hopeful he takes this opportunity to continue to build on the progress he's made on the field throughout the season. The goal for every game is to go out and win, and Johnny needs to show that he can put us in position to do so during these last four weeks of the season."

With just five career starts, Manziel remains a bit of a question mark. The Browns need to find out what they have in the 2014 first-rounder and whether or not he belongs in the team's future plans. A source told ESPN's Chris Mortensen on Monday that Cleveland wants to see how the young QB continues to handle the ups and downs of NFL life. However, the source went on to say that the Browns are unsure if Manziel will ever be a true franchise guy.

Manziel has been given the starting job on three separate occasions this season, and the Browns have made six total quarterback changes on the year. He has just one win as a starter this year (against the 3-9 Tennessee Titans) but did throw for 372 yards in a loss against the Pittsburg Steelers (7-5) back in November.

Overall, Manziel is just 1-4 as a starter in his career. This season he is completing 59.4 percent of his passes and has thrown for 933 yards with five touchdowns against two interceptions.
