Season 5 of "Shameless" left fans wondering what could possibly be going on with Debbie's (Emma Kenney) current pregnancy status, Frank's (William H. Macy) broken heart, Ian's (Cameron Monaghan) bi-polar disorder and Carl's (Ethan Cutkosky) jail sentence, and in the recently released trailer, it seemed as though we'd be getting the answers to all of these questions. The one major finale cliffhanger that didn't seem to be too big of an issue in the upcoming season, though, was Fiona's (Emmy Rossum) current relationship status. In the finale, Fiona was left wondering if she wanted to be with her husband Gus (Steve Kazee), who she went on a break with, or her on-and-off again fling, and boss, Sean (Dermot Mulroney). In the trailer for season 6, Fiona is seen getting hot and heavy with Sean, so it looks like our questions were answered right then and there, but Rossum, who is currently engaged in real life, was spotted on the set of "Shameless" in a wedding dress, according to E! News, and now fans are confused all over again.

Fiona is still legally married to Gus, so even though it seems as though Sean would be the most logical answer for her husband-to-be, that would mean getting a divorce. And divorces cost a lot of money, which the Gallaghers definitely do not have. It also seems a little strange that Fiona would be marrying Sean so quickly. Yes, she does have feelings for him and the two are great together, but it doesn't seem serious enough for a wedding yet. Then again, a lot could change throughout the season.

While this may be a long shot, since you never know what the "Shameless" producers could have up there sleeve as we've seen them bring him back several times, but Fiona's former love Jimmy/Steve (Justin Chatwin) is also always a possibility. He happens to come back into her life at the worst possible moments, and Fiona falls for him every single time, no matter how much she knows he is bad for her

When season 5 ended, before season 6 had even begun filming, executive producer John Wells did confirm that Sean would definitely be back this upcoming season and that he's a big part in Fiona's journey to maturity.

"We've watching her grow up a bit, and she's a woman now," Wells told The Hollywood Reporter. "She presents herself as a woman, and so we have to start addressing that. We care deeply about her as a character, so we really want to watch her make that transition into maturity, which is a lot of what Dermot has been doing on the show. He's pointing out the things she does have real world consequences on the people around her now."

When it came to Jimmy/Steve's return, all Wells could say was, "We never want to say never."

Shanolah Hampton, who plays Veronica, posted a photo of herself and some of her co-stars on set on Wednesday in what looks like wedding attire. "Goofing with the boys!" she wrote.

Looks like we're going to have to wait and see! It's also "Shameless" we're talking about here, and this wedding dress probably means something crazier and more shocking than we could ever even imagine.

Season 6 of "Shameless" premieres on Showtime on Jan. 17.
