When Robin Strader of Norman, Okla. found a miniature donkey in a dangerous place Tuesday morning as she travelled to work, she had no idea how to get the little animal to safety. The little guy was just roaming along 120th avenue N.E. when he was spotted, according to News Channel 4.

"If I hadn't gotten him off the road, yeah, he could have definitely been killed," she said.

Thankfully, help came quickly in the form of Norman Police Officer Kyle Canaan, who opted to help the donkey in a relatively unorthodox way. With no owner in sight, Strader told the officer that she could keep the donkey, fondly referred to as "Squishy," in her property. Her vehicle, however, was not big enough.

Thus, the police officer offered to drive the donkey to Strader's property in the back of his squad car. Thankfully, the little donkey was quite calm, and both Strader and Canaan were able to stuff him in the backseat of the police car, reported The Daily Intelligencer.

"It was a perfect fit. I was able to shut both doors. I rolled the window down for it," Canaan said.

Squishy only stayed in police custody for about four miles. During that time, however, he left behind some evidence on the officer's car.

"It used the bathroom in the back of my police car - number two. I mean, I must have got it right after breakfast, because there was a lot," the officer said.

Despite the fact that he used the police car as his very own mobile porta-potty, Squishy now stays with the Straders, who love having him around. The Straders are currently looking for Squishy's owner, but if no one comes to claim him, they are planning on providing him with a forever home.
