Jason Statham has reportedly met with Paul Feig, director of the upcoming spy comedy "Susan Cooper". Melissa MaCarthy is playing a spy in the movie and he is expected to join her. Details of the meeting are scanty and reports are that negotiations will soon begin.

Jason Statham may be heading down the road which lit up his career in Hollywood. The British hunk is well known for his crime and action roles, but Statham's career actually kicked off with his comic roles in British films including "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels" and "Snatch." Now, Statham plans to brush-up his comedy skills alongside an experienced comedy star like Melissa McCarthy.

According to a latest report from Deadline, the "Transporter" actor is in talks with "Bridesmaids" and "Heat" director Paul Feig to play a secret agent alongside McCarthy in the upcoming film ,"Susan Cooper."

Recently, Statham has been seen in several action films and his latest move could bring about a change in his career and also showcase his flexibility. Some of Statham starrers including "The Expandables" have raked in huge collections at the box office, but some films like this year's "Parker" did not go beyond the 20 million mark domestically. His appearance in the highly anticipated "Fast and the Furious 7," due to come out next summer, will add to his high-profile roles in big budget films.

The details of Statham's role in "Susan Parker" have not been clarified but it is most likely the lead opposite McCarthy, that is if he takes up the role. It would be too early to predict Statham's appearance in Feig's next iteration as the project is yet to commence.
