Courteney Cox and her fiancé Johnny McDaid have called off their upcoming nuptials and decided to separate, according to TMZ.

The gossip site reports that the 51-year-old former "Friends" star and the 39-year-old Snow Patrol guitarist called it quits before Thanksgiving. McDaid has "packed up and moved out of Cox's homes in Malibu and L.A." and "flew back home to England," TMZ reports.

Apparently, the two did not give up on their relationship without a fight. A source said that Cox and McDaid sought counseling before mutually deciding to pull the plug. Sources told TMZ they've been struggling over lifestyle choices - Cox preferring to go out with friends while McDaid liked to avoid publicity.

"They were going to counseling because they were having issues and fighting a lot, about everything," a source told Hollywood Life. "He just decided he wanted to separate. He hasn't really given a reason, but mainly said he wants to focus on his music and can't take the fighting."

"She is really depressed about it ... extremely upset about. She truly is just miserable about it," the insider added.

The couple, who were introduced by British singer Ed Sheeran, had been dating for six months before getting engaged in June 2014 and announced the exciting news via their Twitter accounts.

"We went to [Jennifer Aniston's] house for dinner because it was [my daughter] Coco's birthday, and she was god mom," Cox said about McDaid's proposal during an appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" in September 2014. "They [Johnny and Coco] made a plan to count down from three, and when they got to one, he was gonna get down on his knee and say, 'Will you marry me?' and she was gonna say, 'Will you marry him?'"

Cox and McDaid were last photographed together in August. This would have been the first marriage for McDaid and the second for Cox, who wed actor David Arquette in June 1999 and divorced in 2013. The exes share an 11-year-old daughter, Coco.
