"Magic Mike" star Alex Pettyfer finally opened up about his beef with co-star Channing Tatum. Pettyfer's character was noticeably missing from the film's sequel, "Magic Mike XXL," and now it all finally makes sense.

"Channing Tatum does not like me, and for many reasons — many being my own fault," Pettyfer told Bret Easton Ellis on Monday's episode of his "B.E.E." podcast. The 25-year-old British actor then went on to explain how he got a bad reputation on the set of the film because of his own insecurities.

"I was scared to speak. I actually did my work and I sat in the corner and listened to music because I had been told anything I did was wrong by my reps," said Pettyfer. "I was very insecure as a human being. That also gave me a bad rep because everyone was like, 'Alex doesn't speak because he thinks he's better than everyone else.' That's not true. I was just generally nervous and scared to be myself. I was in character."

"He hates Alex," a source said of Tatum in 2012, according to Us Weekly. "Channing thought Alex was a diva on set."

Things got even worse between the two actors when Pettyfer, who rented a house from one of Tatum's friends, suddenly moved out and refused to pay the rent. According to Pettyfer, he did not pay the rent because he thought the place had mold.

"All of a sudden, I got a very negative email from Channing, rightfully so, saying , 'Don't f--k my friends. You owe money. Pay the f--king money. Don't be a clown,'" said Pettyfer. "And I should have just paid. I think he [Tatum] was looking for an excuse to not like me."

By the end of "Magic Mike," the two hated each other so much, they refused to do press together. Tatum even reportedly kicked Pettyfer off the cover of Entertainment Weekly because he disliked him that much, according to Page Six.
