The Philadelphia 76ers have been an embarassment to say the least so far this season, as they are 0-16 and are on the verge of breaking the NBA record for futility to start a season. The one bright spot you could point to has been rookie Jahlil Okafor, as he has come into the league and played well from the start. But on the night before Thanksgiving Okafor was caught up in a scuffle outside a club in Boston and could now be facing a suspension from the NBA, according to Rotoworld.

Okafor went out on the town on Thanksgiving Eve to a club in Boston with some friends, and outside of the club is where the fight happened. Okafor claims that he was being heckled from the minute he walked out of the club and that he felt he was in danger because he was being swarmed by people, according to TMZ Sports.

The whole incident was caught on video, and you can clearly see Okafor taking a swing at one of the guys and knocking him out cold. Okafor claims to have been out with a teammate, although he wouldn't say which teammate, and he says that one of the hecklers got physical with said teammate so he just did what he needed to do to protect him.

Everybody fled the scene immediately and no arrests were made, but the fact that this whole incident was caught on camera is not a good look for Okafor. The NBA will not like the fact that one of its young stars was in an altercation on the streets of Boston, and therefore it seems very likely that he will serve some sort of suspension.

As mentioned before, the 76ers are already awful with Okafor on the floor, so they really cannot afford to lose him for any period of time. The 19-year-old is averaging 18.4 points and 8.1 rebounds in his first 16 career games and looks to be headed for a solid career so hopefully this is just a minor hiccup. You can watch the video of the incident below.
