Los Angeles police arrested a homeless man who was found with machine guns over the weekend, according to the Christian Science Monitor.

Richard Cunningham, 57, was arrested at a homeless encampment near the Harbor City neighborhood with a cache of weapons, including two working World War II sub machine guns, four pistols, ammunition and two makeshift silencers, according to Sheriff's Detective Dennis Elmore.

None of the weapons were legally owned by Cunningham, The Los Angeles Times reported. There is no legal right barring the homeless from carrying weapons, but in Cunningham's case, a previously convicted felon may be prevented from owning or carrying a weapon.

Cunningham now faces charges including possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of a large-capacity magazine and possession of a machine gun, according to Fox News. Cunningham was arraigned on Tuesday and is being held on $165,000 bond. The nature of Cunningham's previous felon is unknown at this time, or how he was able to secure the cache of weapons and ammunition.
