Nintendo has assured 3DS users a fix soon for the locking issue in the handheld screen while playing Pokemon X and Y.

Quite a number of handhelds have problems with the screen in the micro console, which is unable to fully save games in certain locations while playing the game.

"An issue has been found with the Pokémon X and Pokémon Y games, released for Nintendo 3DS on 12th October 2013. After the player saves the game in certain areas and then reloads the save file, the controls may become unresponsive," the company wrote on its official page.

Nintendo 3DS unveiled Pokemon X and Y early this month and they have quickly become the fastest selling 3DS titles since release. Nintendo has acknowledged the problems and assured fans that they will fix the bug soon.

"For players who are already experiencing this issue please be aware that we are currently preparing an application to fix it, and will make it available to download from Nintendo eShop as soon as it is ready. We apologize for the inconvenience."

For the new gamers who have not faced the problem yet, Nintendo has come up with a Lumiose city map marking the areas the areas to be avoided.

Nintendo has asked players not to save the game while in the areas marked with blue on the map However, players can still save the game anywhere else in Lumiose City, including inside buildings such as Pokemon Centers.

 For others Nintendo said in a statement, "We are preparing an application to recover saved game data for players whom this has happened to. This will be made available to download from Nintendo eShop as soon as possible.

"We apologise sincerely for any inconvenience and ask you to please keep an eye on our website over the coming days for the latest information and updates."
