No, it is not a smartwatch, but it is still one of the world's most iconic timepieces, and it is available today. A few decades ago, Sigourney Weaver's career was practically made by her portrayal of Ripley in the "Alien" trilogy, one of Hollywood's most beloved sci-fi franchises of all time. While for the most part, Ripley's wardrobe was pretty stark, her watch, a Seiko Chronograph 7A28-7000, was considered by many to be extremely eye-catching. Due to popular demand, the watchmaker has decided to reissue the classic timepiece for a limited run, reports Nerdist.

The Seiko 7A28-7000 was actually released three years before the 1986 film, "Aliens," was released. Crafted by Italian car designer Giorgetto Giugiaro, it was not just notable as Ripley's timepiece of choice. It was also the first model to feature Seiko's calibre 7A28 analog quartz chronograph movement.

Now, 30 years after the watch captured the eyes of viewers all over the world, Seiko has unveiled the Seiko SCED035, a replica of the watch worn by Weaver in the movie, and the SCED037, which features a black color scheme, according to CNET.

Though the newer models are essentially replicas of the original, their internals have been updated, running on the newer calibre 7T12 analogue quartz chronograph movement. The original model's crown and pusher on the left side of the case have also been removed, to prevent accidental button presses.

Everything else, including the bracelet, are exactly the same.

The Seiko SCED035 and SCED037 are pretty hefty watches, measuring 42.2 mm wide, 41.8 mm long, and 10.8 mm thick. They are both water-resistant up to 100 meters and have a 5-year battery life. A 24-hour hand and a stopwatch are also included.

Only 3,000 of these limited edition watches will be made. The SCED035 and SCED037 will sell for $260 and $290, plus tax.
