It's been three months since the newest heir to the throne arrived, and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, along with the rest of Kensington Palace, are eagerly anticipating Prince George's christening.

Set to take place on Oct. 23, the 45-minute ceremony will be conducted by the Archbishop of Canterbury and attended by the Queen and her husband, Prince Phillip, Prince Charles and wife Camilla, Prince Harry, and the Middleton family, according to People magazine. The ceremony will take place in the chapel in St. James Palace, despite earlier reports that it would occur around the Lily Font.

The six people chosen to be the godparents of Prince George will be revealed on the day of the christening, though rumors have been circulating as to whom the Duke and Duchess chose for the very special honor. Sources claim that Fergus Boyd, who attended university with Kate Middleton and Prince William, Hugh Van Custem (Prince William is already godfather to his daughter), and Emilia d'Erlanger, who attended college with Middleton and ran in royal social circles, have all been chosen or are top contenders for the role.

"They are rather unexpected off-the-wall choices for godparents - not the usual suspects of William's closest friends who we anticipated," a royal source recently told the Daily Mail.

Also unusual is the choice of setting for the ceremony, as Prince William, his father and the Queen were all christened at Buckingham Palace, though it is believed the Royal Chapel has been chosen to pay tribute to the late Princess Diana, as it's where her coffin lay before her burial in 1997.

Prince George will wear a replica of the lace and satin christening gown made for Queen Victoria's oldest daughter, Victoria, in 1841, People reports. Photos will be taken following the service, along with one that will be released featuring the Queen alongside three heirs to the throne.
