A man has been arrested on charges of murder after authorities found six dead bodies, including a child, near a private campsite in Anderson County, Texas on Sunday.

The corpses of the six murder victims - one women, four men and a boy - belonged to members of two different families, who were visiting from out of town and were lodging in a caravan. "A lot of them are family, kin to each other in various forms," said Sheriff Greg Taylor, according to USA Today. "They are not from this area."

The bodies were found on a private property near Palestine, which is located approximately 100 miles southeast of Dallas, according to Anderson County police, CBS News reported.

The suspect apprehended in connection with the largest homicide in the history of the county has been identified as William Hudson. Hudson is the owner of the estate located close to where the bodies were recovered from. He has been charged with one count of murder and his bail has been set at $2.5 million.

Three of the six victims have been identified as Carl Johnson, Hannah Johnson and Thomas Kamp, who is the landlord of the property the families were living on. The identities of the remaining three victims have not yet been disclosed and the motive for the killings is not known, but the Anderson county sheriff is expected to provide further details at a press conference scheduled later today, according to KYTX.
