While the latest iPad and MacBook Pro models are just a week away, Apple is rumored to be working on a pocket friendly iMac lined up for 2014.  A 12-inche Macbook alongside the budgetary desktop is also on the anvil.

Apple is doing quite well in the market with its iPhone and iPad yet the Cupertino based tech giant often struggles to keep pace with its rivals when it comes to desktops. According to Ming Chi Kuo, security analyst for KGI, the demand for iMacs was relatively lower in 2012 than expected due to high prices, reveals a recent post on Appleinsider. The iMac developer dispatched lesser number of desktops because of low demand for the expensive desktops. Kuo is well known for his early predictions on Apple products.

In fact, Apple updated its iMac series last month that includes some impressive specs like improved graphic cards Wi-Fi, enhanced memory space, powered by the Intel Haswell processor, reports engadget. Despite the exciting specs, the iMac lineup failed to attract buyers owing to its lofty price stating from $1299.

When it comes to Operating Systems Apple OS X scores higher against Windows 8, yet Microsoft enjoys a lion's share in the world market with its much affordable desktops starting from $600.  Apple may come up with a budgetary iMac in the third quarter of the next year. According to Kuo the low budget IMac will boost up the market at least by 10-20 percent especially overseas  where buyers look for desktops with high end specs within an affordable range.

Alongside the new laptop Apple may also come up with next generation MacBooks featuring Retina display. The new iMac models will pack a lighter body and will be more economic as compared to earlier versions, according to a recent post on fools.  Kuo also suggested that besides the reasonably priced laptop and desktop series, Apple is also gearing up for a third generation iPad by 2014 that will have a sharper screen with higher pixel density.

There has been no official word from Apple about budgetary iMac buts seems like the Cupertino based tech giant is eying one to continue its growth streak.
