Konami, the developer and publisher of the "Metal Gear Solid" series, is working to create a prosthetic arm based on the series for James Young, a 25-year-old fan who lost his arm in an accident, according to Gizmodo. The limb will resemble the one featured in the most recent installment of the series, "Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain."

Young lost an arm and a leg in 2012 when he was dragged between two carriages on the London railway tracks, according to SlashGear. Upon hearing the story, Konami decided to step in and help Young with its prosthetic arm design to help him play the video games that he enjoys and make the most of any other activity that requires two hands.

The story of "Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain" and the challenges that hero Snake faces mirror those that Young faces, according to Computer Graphics World. During the course of the game, Snake utilizes a cybernetic arm replacement after waking up from a nine-year coma to find that his left arm has been amputated.

Although no technical details of the project have been revealed as of yet, Konami will be working with a leading prosthesis artist and technical team. The process is going to be filmed and released as a three-part documentary on the project's website in January.
