Canadian rock band Simple Plan will not be heading to Paris for a private show scheduled for Nov. 16 in wake of Friday's tragic terrorist attacks in Paris, said the group's lead guitarist Jeff Stinco.

"We were leaving for Paris tomorrow for a show on Monday; unfortunately, because of the tragic events that took place today, we have to cancel our plans. The French borders are closed. We plan to go back to France as soon as possible: if the situation changes, we hope to show our support to our French fans by the end of this week," said Stinco, according to Billboard.

A series of coordinated attacks in Paris on Friday left more than 150 people dead after terrorists conducted suicide bombings in the city and opened fire at the Balaclan Theater, where American rock band Eagles of Death Metal were performing.

The group's lead singer and guitarist Jesse Hughes and drummer Julian Dorio were confirmed safe but, there were still members of the band's crew that are still unaccounted for, as HNGN previously reported.

At an earlier time, Stinco wrote the following post on his personal Facebook page: "My thoughts go to the victims of the attacks in Paris. We are leaving tomorrow for Paris for a show...makes me slightly nervous."

The details of the private show have not been released on the official website of the group behind their recent single "I Don't Want To Go To Bed," but Simple Plan's Czech website mentioned that the band was slated to perform in Paris for "a private showcase with the support act Hyphen Hyphen."

The Montreal-based rock band took to Twitter to offer their sympathies.

Simple Plan isn't the only rock band to call off their show as a result of the terrorist attacks. U2 also canceled its concert in the French capital scheduled for Nov. 14 in wake of the tragedy.
