An elderly couple died in a hot tub in Mexico after having sex, just two days before their daughter's destination wedding, according to the Daily Mail.

Charles McKenzie, 67, and his wife Dorothy, 63, died after having intercourse in a hot tub at the Playacar Palace hotel in Quintana Roo.

Reports claim that the husband was on top of his wife when he had a heart attack and collapsed on top of her, smothering her till she eventually drowned, which was referred to as "asphyxiation by submersion," according to KSAT 12.

The Canadian couple was just days away from seeing their daughter walk down the aisle.

Their daughter, 35, found the couple in their hotel room on Tuesday around 10 a.m. Officials say that the couple died either in the early hours of the morning or the night before.

Dorothy's brother, Douglas Hastings, told reporters that he was unsure about the bride's plans for the wedding at this point, according to The New York Post.

"I know that they're more concerned about the remains and cremation and things like that," he said. "I don't really know about the wedding."

There was a question of foul play, with some saying that there may have been an electrical fault in the tub. However, autopsy reports indicate that it was indeed a heart attack that lead to the tragic incident.
