Will Beatty's season is over before it even started, as Giants head coach Tom Coughlin announced that their offensive tackle will remain on the physically unable to perform list, according to New York Giants Twitter account.

Coughlin stated that Beatty will remain on the PUP, as he will need surgery on his injured rotator cuff. Beatty suffered a torn pectoral injury this past May when lifting weights, and had been sitting out recovering from surgery. Reports surfaced last month that Beatty was close to returning to practice and getting back out on the field, but it turns out the Giants offensive lineman is done for the season.

Coughlin said that Beatty's rotator cuff injury requires surgery, and that it's unrelated to his pectoral injury, according to New York Giants Twitter account. Thursday was the last day the Giants could activate Beatty from the PUP, and now he is expected to remain on the PUP for the rest of the season, according to Jordan Raanan of NJ.com.

The Giants used their first round draft pick on offensive tackle Ereck Flowers who has filled in nicely on their offensive line. Quarterback Eli Manning has only been sacked 12 times this season, and part of that is due to an improved offensive line. The other part of that is offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo's system, which continually gets the ball out of Manning's hands quickly. While the Giants offensive line looks improved this season, it is a huge blow to lose Beatty for the season as he could have been a crucial piece for them.
