The chess match between Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) has begun. While watching the show is going to be extremely easy for us viewers, carrying out a master plan to destroy Marcel is going to be anything but a walk in the park for Klaus.

In a recent interview with TVGuide.com, Davis said his character’s past with Klaus will make it much harder for the original hybrid to fool him.

"It's going to be harder to pull the wool over Marcel's eyes, but that's what makes it interesting because there's this game between the two of them," explained Morgan.

Davis added that Klaus’ personal connections to Marcel may also complicates matters

“This is a boy he treated as a son and a young man he respected and took under his wing. So, it's going to be tough for Klaus because there's always going to be a conflict there,” Davis said. There's also pride for Klaus [in] seeing that Marcel has come so far. So, he'll never just want to take him down and kill him. There's going to be complexity there."

The chess match between Marcel and the Mikaelson’s will continue tomorrow. According to EOnline, Marcel is going to host a ball and our favorite originals are planning to crash it. To stir things up, Rebekah (Claire Holt) invites Cami (Leah Pipes)—making the woman Marcel is interested in potentially one of the only humans at a party full of vampires. Will that rattle the king of the French Quarter?
