Spanish goat farmers discovered a bizarre black orb that appeared to have fallen from the sky into their field on Friday, causing them alarm. The Civil Guard was alerted, and immediately put the area of Calasparra, in the city of Murcia, on quarantine status as they checked to ensure the unusual object was not dangerously radioactive, according to Capital Bay. Independent researchers are working to provide an explanation for the orb, and determine where it came from.

The object appears to bear a resemblance to the Star Wars torture device, the IT-O Interrogator. Regardless, the orbs is surrounded with speculation about its origin. A guess from the local new site El Pais is that it could be a pressurized gas container that fell to the earth. The Civil Guard believes it to have possibly fallen off a rocket. Locals believe it fell from heaven.

The Civil Guard later confirmed that the mysterious object is an aerospace artifact, according to the Daily Mail, and possibly fell from a rocket or satellite.

"A few years ago similar objects were discovered in Brazil," a Civil Guard explosives expert said, according to Now Breaking News. "The sphere has all the signs of being a composite over-wrapped pressure vessel, possibly from a space station."

"These objects are made of a material that is so resistant it survives intact even after re-entering the earth's atmosphere," the expert added.
