"The Simpsons" Executive Producer Al Jean has remained tight-lipped since announcing that a "major" character was going to be killed off during the new season. He gave very little details into the character's identity but Jennifer Tilly might have spilled the beans.

TMZ caught up with Tilly, who is close to co-creator Sam Simon, and asked her which character was going to die. Of course, Tilly didn't want to name drop but she did tell TMZ that rumor has is that Apu was getting chopped.

Voiced by Hank Azaria, Apu Nahasapeemapetilon is a Kwik-E-Mart employee who is best known for is catch phrase, "Thank you, come again." He is also a friend of Homer Simpson's.

When Jean announced that a character was leaving for good the only information he would provide was that "the actor playing the character won an Emmy for playing that character."

The clue did very little to help since the show has won 25 Emmy awards with virtually all the characters bringing home a trophy. Apu could very well be the character to get axed.

Jean did end up revealing other secrets about the new season. The season finale is said to be a Simpson/Futurama "cross-over episode" and will have celebrity voices such as Zach Galifiankis, Elisabeth Moss and Kristen Wiig, who was in the season premiere.

"In that (Elisabeth Moss) episode, Homer is stuck in an elevator with a pregnant woman and delivers her baby," Jean said. "She's grateful and she doesn't have a husband, so she names the baby Homer Jr. and Homer actually bonds with the baby better than his own (children)."

It was also revealed that the Comic Book Guy will be getting married and Guillermo del Toro is contributing to the Treehouse of Terror episode, which aired Oct. 6.

The new season kicked off on Sunday (Sept. 29) with a spoof of Showtime's "Homeland." In the episode Lisa thought Homer had been "turned" by terrorists because of his knowledge about the nuclear secrets at the Springfield plant.

Do you think Apu will be the character who gets killed in the new season?
