Google announced Tuesday that it will be integrating a new feature called "Smart Reply" into its "Inbox" email app that will help users write emails by suggesting replies for incoming messages, according to The Verge. The company stated that from one message, the app will come up with three short replies to choose from.

The feature will be available to anyone who uses the free version of "Inbox," as well as businesses who have invested in Google's work applications, according to the Toronto Star. Currently, over two million businesses take advantage of these services.

"Smart Reply" is capable of coming up with approximately 20,000 different phrases and works by analyzing incoming emails and using machine learning to create a reply based on natural language. Furthermore, the more the app is used, the better it will become at coming up with replies that sound like the user.

Machine learning is a phrase that refers to specific computer algorithms that have the ability to learn things without being programmed to do so, giving them the flexibility to complete tasks and make predictions, according to TIME.

"Smart Reply" is the next step in the company's recent efforts to teach machines to take over tasks typically conducted by humans, as previously reported by HNGN.
