Katie Holmes has broken her silence about Leah Remini's scathing tell-all "20/20" interview about Scientology where she told an anecdote about Holmes and her ex-husband, actor and famed Scientologist Tom Cruise. Holmes addressed Remini in a statement issued to People magazine.

"In response to an email sent from the producers or fact-checkers from 20/20 asking a plethora of questions, we supplied no answers and instead gave only a one-sentence statement in response," Holmes' publicist told People. "Katie is not making an appearance on the special, nor is she discussing Scientology, or her former marriage, and this quote was provided through her publicist."

In her "20/20" interview, Remini, 45, told a story about the time she was asked by church officials to teach Cruise and his then-girlfriend Holmes how to salsa dance, reported E! News. Remini and her husband Angelo Pagan, who used to perform in a salsa band, were surprised to see that two high-ranking Scientology officials were also at Cruise's home when they arrived.

"He was, like, forcibly kissing Katie, and I was like, 'Hey, get a freakin' room," said Remini in a clip from the interview. "And, well, I got written up for that."

ABC teased that viewers will get to "hear" from Holmes during the "20/20" special, but Holmes' publicist clarified that by explaining that Holmes only released a one-sentence statement to ABC in response to Remini's claims.

"I regret having upset Leah in the past, and wish her only the best in the future," said Holmes in the statement obtained by People.

Watch a clip from Remini's interview below and be sure to catch the full "20/20" report tonight at 10 p.m. (ET) on ABC.
