The New York Knicks are off to a 1-1 start this season with the loss being blowout and the win being a convincing win. After their win on Wednesday against the Milwaukee Bucks optimism was at an all-time high for this Knicks team but after their loss on Thursday to the Atlanta Hawks people started to re-think some things. It is only two games out of a long 82 game season but head coach Derek Fisher clearly wasn't happy with the Knicks performance in their home opener and he is reportedly already considering making lineup changes, according to Chris Herring of the Wall Street Journal.

Fisher was asked if he was considering new lineups and his response was "Its interesting 2 see how quickly things change. Yesterday, the sun was up. Today, there is no sun." It's hard to know exactly what that means but a lot of people are speculating as to whether Jose Calderon's spot in the starting lineup is up for grabs.

Calderon has gotten off to a dreadful start this season as he has only scored three points in the two games on 1-10 shooting and his defense has left a lot to be desired. Rookie Jerian Grant, on the other hand, has played really well in his first two NBA games and it is being reported that he might take over as the starting point guard, according to Rotoworld.

Grant played 29 minutes on Thursday night compared to just 18 for Calderon and he outplayed him by a wide margin. Grant scored five points on 2-4 shooting while adding seven rebounds and seven assists. The rookie out of Notre Dame has great court vision and a knack for scoring as well and, although it is just two games, he is clearly the better player right now.

Whether Fisher decides to make a change or not to the starting lineup it seems as though Grant will be getting the bulk of the minutes at the point regardless of whether he starts or not. There truly is no need to panic as the season has just started but Calderon is coming off a very bad season for the Knicks a year ago and likely had a short leash coming in. A change doesn't need to happen immediately but if Calderon continues to struggle and Grant continues to play as well as he has Fisher will have no choice but to make the change.
