Comcast has partnered with Twitter to give users a new option to access live or On Demand TV shows directly from a tweet.

A recent study from the researchers of Columbia Business School and University of Pittsburgh predicted that "Twitter" will soon become 'TV Like'.  The latest move is a major move in pushing the social network in that direction by connecting to television channels. Twitter and Comcast announced Wednesday, a new way to tune in to live or on demand TV shows from within a tweet.

With the latest deal, users will get a new option integrated within a tweet called "See It." On clicking the button, one will instantly be connected to a TV program. This will allow users to get the latest news through their set-top box or mobile devices. In addition, Comcast Xfinity subscribers can change channels, set digital video recorders, or even remind a viewer directly through a tweet.

The latest partnership, between Twitter, Comcast and NBC Universal, will allow users to access the new feature with TV Shows like "The Voice" and "Sunday Night Football."

"Each day, Twitter plays host to the real-time conversation about television and a large portion of that conversation occurs while a program is live on the air," Jana Messerschmidt, VP of Twitter Business Development & Platform, wrote in the company's blog, Wednesday. "Millions of people are exposed to Tweets about a program, so much so that they're often motivated by the Twitter buzz to tune in. By partnering with Comcast, we'll be able to make it easier than ever to turn on the show everyone is talking about and jump into the conversation."

The latest feature will also align with other video distribution partners, networks, and websites in the coming future.

The 'See It' button holds a strong future as more than 218 million users can directly tune in to the trending news with a simple click. Partnering with the largest cable provider in the United States gives it a strong foothold and a greater scope of expansion.
