After surveying thousands of men, it has been found that statistically, men with beards or longer facial hair are more likely to not only cheat on their significant other, but to lie and steal, according to EVA.

The new video social networking developer and Censuswide teamed up to question about 2,000 men, asking them various questions, like if they had been unfaithful or if they had ever stolen something.

The census revealed that among those questioned, 47 percent of bearded men had cheated on their partner, while only 20 percent of shaven men had stepped out, according to the Independent.

The survey asked other questions as well, and more often than not, the percentages on the negatives were notably higher for bearded males.

Bearded fellas were 45 percent more likely to wind up in a fight and 40 percent claimed to have stolen at some point.

So what's the point of the recent trend in more facial hair?

Some suggest that it goes further than just a fashion statement, theorizing that it could possibly be a way of protecting the skin from the damaging sun or to draw the attention of females, according to Forbes.

But those theories have been shot down, since evolution would have presumably done the same for females if protection were the case, and most women in the census said that they would prefer not dating a man with a long beard for hygienic reasons.
