Ellie Bishop and her husband Jake have struggled to find a balance in their marriage since she transferred to NCIS and he remained at the NSA, a job that requires him to keep secrets from his wife. The tension brewing between the couple could bubble over as "NCIS" puts Bishop's personal life under the microscope.

Bishop (Emily Wickersham) already tried to put a little spark back into their relationship by planning a weekend getaway together a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, McGee (Sean Murray) spoiled the surprise and Jake (Jamie Bamber) ended up getting called out of town at the last minute.

Jake's NSA responsibilities have taken him away from home a lot lately and Bishop's worst nightmare may come true tonight when Jake's hotel in Dubai is attacked. Gibbs (Mark Harmon) suggests she go home, but she refuses to sit and wait for a "we regret to inform you" call.

Bamber's scheduled appearance in the Nov. 17 episode would suggest he makes it out of the Middle East alive, but the life-and-death situation doesn't seem to cure their marital woes. The episode titled "Day in Court" will see the return of Salli Richardson as lawyer Carrie Clark for "a twisty turny legal mystery," showrunner Gary Glasberg told TVLine.com. "Parallel to that in a really significant way, we learn disturbing things about Bishop's personal life."

Fast-forward one week and Bishop is spending Thanksgiving back home in Oklahoma with her mom (Lindsay Wagner), and it sounds like she didn't invite Jake to come with her.

Could Bishop fall into the trap that many of her NCIS colleagues have faced - losing out on love?

Stay tuned to "NCIS" on Tuesday nights at 8 p.m. on CBS to find out.
