Lamar Odom has finally realized that his life is in shambles and is desperately trying to fix things with his wife Khloe Kardashian. The couple's marriage has been on the rocks for months now and it was speculated that things could end in divorce because of Odom's alleged drug addiction.

Sources told Hollywood Life that Odom has finally begun to face his demons and went to see his family over the weekend. The athlete hasn't said a word about his problems but reportedly told his family that he is ready to get his life back in order.

"He told his family how much he loves his wife and wants things to get better and back to normal," the source said. "He mentioned how embarrassed and ashamed he is."

The former Clippers player has been living in a downtown Los Angeles apartment after Kardashian kicked him out of their Tarzana home. According to several reports she gave him an ultimatum that he either needed clean his act up and get himself together or the marriage was over.

Odom did a secret stint in rehab but bailed after one day. He also tried to get help for his alleged crack cocaine addiction through an outpatient program but failed to show up to his first meeting with a drug counselor.

At one point it seemed like the athlete wasn't trying to get himself together but has since had a change of heart.

"He wants to go back home and live with Khloe and not be downtown because, you know, it's easy access [to drugs] down there," the source said. "If he's up there in the hills with Khloe, though, he's going to get all her love and support and that's the environment he needs to be in."

Before he moves back in with the "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" star he reportedly wants to be left alone so he can deal with his issues on his own. The source said Odom is frustrated with people bothering him and wants "everyone to get off his back."

It's been reported that Kardashian has divorce papers signed and ready to go but has not pulled the trigger yet because she wasn't ready to give up on her marriage. The source told Hollywood Life that Kardashian has no plans on ever filing for divorce and doesn't want to "do that to Lamar."

The day after Kris Jenner announced that she and Bruce Jenner were officially separated the couple was spotted together for the first time in months.

They were photographed driving together close to Kris Jenner's house in Calabasas, Calif. on Oct. 8. From the photo they didn't look very friendly towards each other but this reunion could be a step towards reconciliation.
