Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant has been ruled out this weekend against the New York Giants, according to NFL reporter Kevin Patra.

Bryant did not fly to New York with his teammates this weekend, and on Friday a Cowboys spokesperson said Bryant would stay in Dallas but could still fly up to join his teammates on Saturday, according to the Dallas News' David Moore. Bryant has been listed as doubtful all week, and some thought he could go after returning to individual drills last week.

The Cowboys will miss Bryant on the field Sunday, as they have a tough test against the New York Giants. The Cowboys won their first meeting of the season with a fourth quarter comeback led by Tony Romo. The Cowboys won't have Romo this weekend, as he is still rehabbing from a fractured collarbone. Dallas will look to start Matt Cassel for the first time this season, as Brandon Weeden was not getting the job done with three straight losses. Cassel will be without Bryant Sunday, and will need players like Jason Witten and Terrance Williams to step up.

Bryant was expected to return this week against Giants, and Romo is still expected to be back by week 11 against the Miami Dolphins. The Cowboys will hope to have Bryant back by next week against the Seattle Seahawks but will first look to stop a three-game losing streak against New York Sunday.
