Warning: The following contains possible spoilers for season two of FOX's "Gotham."

Fans of FOX's "Gotham" have undoubtedly noticed the soft-spoken yet clear eyed Chris Chalk as Lucius Fox. Fans of the original comic books are undoubtedly aware of the important role his character plays for Bruce Wayne's Batman.

For now, though, Fox is another mentor for a young Bruce on "Gotham" but his role in the television show could be expanding.

"As established in next week's episode (though he's off camera), Lucius is getting ever closer to fixing Thomas Wayne's secret computer, so it's just a matter of time until he resurfaces to keep Alfred on his toes and help mentor young Bruce," TVLine's Michael Ausiello wrote. "'What Sean [Pertwee] and I find exciting about the Lucius/Alfred dynamic,' says Chalk, 'is it's two people who can match each other. Usually Alfred is the smartest man in the room, the most dangerous man in the room, and now he has an intellectual counterpart who's like, 'I can go all day with you.' The Wayne Enterprises tech-spert's connection to Bruce, meanwhile, 'is pure loyalty,' says Chalk. 'His dad was for the greater good, and having not previously pledged his loyalty in a more active way, Lucius now has a chance to do that with Bruce, to be an adviser in a way.'"

Thus far, Chalk has popped up for a few scenes here and there, but now it sounds as if "Gotham" showrunner Bruno Heller will be beefing up his role. Fox is an integral part of Batman's story and, as of now, to Bruce Wayne's development into that man. "Gotham" is wise to further explore the interesting dynamic between the two characters.

"Gotham" airs every Monday at 9:00 PM ET on FOX.
