Former Alabama running back Altee Tenpenny was killed in a car accident on Tuesday night, according to Dan Parr of College Football 24/7.

Tenpenny was driving through Mississippi on Highway 1 when he hit a highway sign around 5 p.m. outside of Glen Allan, according to John Talty of AL.com. Tenpenny's vehicle was sent into the air, and it rolled once it landed back on the ground. Tenpenny was reportedly ejected from the car when it collided with a utility pole.

Tenpenny was the only person involved in the crash, and was rushed to the Delta Regional Medical Center in Greenville, before he died. The Former Alabama running back was on his way home to Arkansas after being suspended from Nicholls State for possession of a firearm and discharging a weapon, according to Talty.

Tenpenny was one of the top running backs in the nation in high school at North Little Rock High school.

"Altee was an outstanding athlete in football and track," said North Little Rock athletic director Gary Davis, via AL.com. "He was great running back for our high school program. A real fun kid to be around and had a great smile. There were never any problems. I was proud to watch him when he was playing for Alabama and excited for him."

Alabama players and former teammates of Tenpenny left messages on social media pages to express their condolences and love for Tenpenny. It comes as shocking news to many, but it seems people are remembering the great times they shared with him.
