Just days after releasing a teaser snippet of a new song, Adele dropped a bombshell via social media in a letter addressed to her fans, The Guardian reported. The English songstress wrote a reflective note apologizing to fans for the long wait and seemed to confirm "25" as the title of her highly anticipated third studio album.

Adele explained to fans in the opening paragraph that she spent much of her childhood wishing she was older and as an adult, she feels as though she spent her whole life wishing.

"My last record was a break up record and if I had to label this one I would call it a make-up record," she wrote in a letter posted to Facebook. "I'm making up with myself. Making up for lost time. Making up for everything I ever did and never did. But I haven't got time to hold on to the crumbs of my past like I used to. What's done is done."

"Turning 25 was a turning point for me, slap bang in the middle of my 20s," she continued. "Teetering on the edge of being an old adolescent and a fully fledged adult, I made the decision to go into becoming who I'm going to be forever without a removal van full of my old junk. 25 is about getting to know who I've become without realising. And I'm sorry it took so long, but you know, life happened."

Her letter seemed to confirm rumors that her upcoming album will be titled "25," in the vein of her previous releases which were titled after ages as well. Her Grammy-award winning breakout album "21" sold 11 million copies in the U.S. since its 2011 release, and featured hits like "Rolling in the Deep" and "Set Fire to the Rain," according to Billboard

The singing powerhouse did not confirm the release date of her upcoming album, but it's speculated that "25" will be released on Nov. 20, as previously reported by HNGN. It's also rumored that the record will feature collaborations with producers Danger Mouse and Max Martin.
