A teenager is claiming responsibility for hacking CIA Director John Brennan's email account. The hack, the teen alleges, disclosed personal work information, including a 47-page application for top-secret security clearance, and personal personnel information, including Social Security numbers for government officials and documents detailing "harsh interrogation techniques," according to Engadget.

The unnamed teenager hacked Brennan's personal AOL email account, which is not supposed to contain sensitive information, according to the New York Post. This comes following the controversy of presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, who has been under scrutiny for also using a personal email for sensitive data, which is subject to hackers.

The hacker operates the Twitter handle @phphax under the name "cracka" and enjoys smoking weed. The hacker is reportedly a part of the group "Crackas With Attitude," according to the International Business Times.

On Oct. 12, the hacker claimed to have logged into Brennan's account and reset his password. Brennan reportedly deleted his account Oct. 16.

"I think they'll want to make an example out of him to deter people from doing this in the future," a source predicted about the teen's fate.

"I can't believe he did this to the head of the CIA,'' added the source. "[The] problem with these older-generation guys is that they don't know anything about cyber security, and as you can see, it can be problematic."
