These days, we may only know Drake as one of the hottest rappers in the game, but most can remember when he was just Jimmy Brooks, the character we all loved who tragically got shot and ended up in a wheelchair on the hit show "Degrassi: The Next Generation."

While he was playing Jimmy, which is a role he started at just 14 years old, many probably didn't know that the now 28-year-old "Started From The Bottom" rapper was already making music. That "was part of the reason I was kicked off the show," he revealed to W Magazine for its latest W Art issue. "Back then, I'd sleep a full day on set and then go to the studio to make music until 4 or 5 a.m. Eventually, they realized I was juggling two professions and told me I had to choose."

At the time, the decision may have been a tough one, but his enormous success as a rapper is proof that he made the right choice. "I chose this life," he explained.

From sold-out shows, to number one albums and too many chart-topping songs to count, Drake has really made a name for himself in the music industry, and even though he wants it to stay this way, he'd still be interested in taking on some acting roles.

"I can't wait to get back into acting," he continued. "No one ever asks me to do movies, and although music is my focal point now, I'd love to do a film. That was the life I lived before, and it would be interesting to live it again."
