There will probably be many “The Vampire Diaries” fans sitting in front of their television screens from 8-10 tonight since the show’s spinoff “The Originals” follows it at 9/8c. If you still happen to be a bit unfamiliar with the new show here are a few things you should know before tonight’s official premiere:
No. 1—Klaus may Have Some Fatherhood Issues
Joseph Morgan recently told Entertainment Weekly that his character Klaus will have some “mixed feelings about” life as a father.
“It’s a difficult one because as we know, he values family very highly … he has a weird way of being protective over them,” Morgan said. "And I think he’s [also] still coming to terms that it’s all happening and all still sinking in for him.”
Klaus will also have some daddy issues of his own during the first season. Viewers will get to see some flash blacks featuring Klaus and his father Mikael (Sebastian Roche) which will provide some insight into why Klaus is the way he is.
No. 2—Get Ready for “Marcekah”
I don’t know if that’s the right ‘ship name but that’s the one I’m using. There will probably be something between “Marcel” and “Rebekah” as hinted by Holt at Comic-Con.
Klaus and Rebekah are going to get some information on a member of Marcel’s gang. According to EOnline, their next move will be to attend a Marcel-hosted masquerade and invite the Camille, the human Marcel likes. (She’ll be the only one at a party full of vampires.) This is will occur in the Oct. 15 episode.
