There is a not-so-new kid on the block making a huge impact in the fast food industry with its wholesome, locally grown, and organic ingredients - Amy's Kitchen. The vegetarian food company recently opened up Amy's Drive Thru, a new, vegetarian drive-thru that's located in the small city of Rohnert Park, Calif., reported Eat Local Grown.

Rohnert Park's motto is, 'The Friendly City', which seems fitting since they have welcomed the new drive thru with open arms. Not only does Amy's Drive Thru have a strictly vegetarian menu, they also provide even more options for the health conscious individual like non-GMO, Gluten Free, and Vegan menu selections.

The restaurant has a mission that plans on "returning to the roots of American fast food, serving lovingly handcrafted food to nourish hard-working citizens, busy families and road-weary travelers," stated Amy's Drive Thru website.

The drive thru doesn't stop there though, as even their interior decorations were created from non-GMO and recycled materials. For example, their tables are made from retired auto brake drums.

The company started with Amy's Kitchen's founding by Andy and Rachel Berliner in the 1980s, naming the company after their newbron daughter, Amy, with the introduction of a healthier version of frozen meals. Then, in 1999, the products were mass-produced and being sold in grocery stores, according to Koin 6. Amy herself now works in the UK with the UK sales team, according to the company's website.

"We feel it is important to know where our food comes from," Amy's Kitchen website states. "We have earned a reputation in the farming community as the company with the most rigid standards for quality and consistency. This is as it should be."
