Spencer Stone, one of the heroes of the France train attack, was seriously wounded in a bar fight, as previously reported by HNGN, and more information has become available.

The Sacramento police say that they received reports of a stabbing in an area of Sacramento known for its night life, around 12:46 a.m. on the morning of Oct 8. Police say that Stone was attacked when he was out with friends and an altercation broke out with another group of individuals.

The police say that surveillance videos of the event have recorded 30 seconds of violence and street fights around 1 a.m. on Oct 8. The fight starts almost casually with a few punches and shoves, but soon a group of people are seen fighting. One man is seen falling to the ground and jumping back to get into the altercation again. The two groups eventually go separate ways, reports CNN.

According to an Air Force official, Stone was attacked when he tried to defend a friend. Hospital sources said his condition was "serious," reports BBC.

Stone is stationed at the Travis Air Force Base, and is expected to make a full recovery. The family of Stone has been overwhelmed with the concern shown for him and said, "The family of Airman Spencer Stone appreciates the outpouring of love and support," in a statement, reports the Guardian.

The police have been interviewing a 24-year-old woman who was at scene and suffered injuries. "At this point we have no reason to believe Mr. Stone is in any kind of (legal) trouble," Deputy Key Bernard of the Sacramento police said, according to CNN. The police believe that alcohol might have been a factor in the fight and are looking for two Asian men, dressed in blue jeans and white T-shirts. The assailants are believed to have driven away in a dark gray or black 2009-2012 Toyota Camry.

"This is not a terrorism related incident, nor is it related to what happened in France months ago," said Bernard according to the BBC.
