Jodie Foster has a new girlfriend, the 50-year-old Oscar-winning actress now dating Alexandra Hedison, E! News reports. Hedison is known for having an arc on the hit show "The L Word," and for being the former partner of talk show host Ellen DeGeneres.

Hedison, a photographer, dated DeGeneres between 2001 and 2004, before the queen of talk shows went on to get together with and eventually marry Portia de Rossi. Now it seems that she's moved on to yet another Hollywood beauty.

"It's pretty serious," an inside source told E! News of their relationship. "They're totally in love."

Fans and the media have speculated for months if the two are more than friends. This summer, Foster and Hedison were photographed together at a technology seminar at Fox Studios in Los Angeles, and days later, spotted having dinner together with several friends. Back in April, both women attended Alan Cumming's "Macbeth" in NYC, though they were not photographed alongside one another.

Hedison appeared as the character Dylan Moreland in three seasons of Showtime's hit lesbian drama series, "The L Word." Her father, David Hedison, is an actor with a long career of movies and television roles, having starred in the '80s horror classic "The Fly." The 44-year old Los Angeles native has also appeared on shows like "Melrose Place" and "Nash Bridges," but officially quit the acting business in 2009.

"I was supporting myself, but I was miserable,'' she told the New York Times back in 2004. ''Actors need to be front and center all the time. That's not me.''

Now she spends her time working on her photography, her work having been shown in Los Angeles and New York, and of course, spending time with her new girlfriend, Jodie Foster.
