Mastering how to tie a scarf got quite complicated in the wake of social media's popularity. If you search for ways to do this on sites like Tumblr, Pinterest or YouTube, you're bound to get thousands of suggestions. After all, "How to wear a scarf" is one of the most popular fashion questions on Google, according to InStyle

The thing is, not everything from the 50 different ways to tie a scarf is actually going to work, because some suggestions are impossible to do. You'll need to be more practical about picking the best way. So, in wearing a scarf you'll only need to keep three things in mind--- you need something to keep you warm, you need something that's at least stylish, and you need this to be easy to do.

Here are three really easy ways to wear a scarf:

1.) Wrap Over, Tie and Tuck - This is the easiest and the most basic style, but it does the job of keeping your neck warm. Cross the scarf around your neck to wrap it, then tie the ends depending on how tight or lose you want this to be. Tuck this inside your coat.

2.) The Loop Through - First fold the scarf in half and then wrap this around your neck. Hold the looped part and pull the other strand through it. Adjust the loop to how you want it lose or tight. This is the classic way for tying a scarf, which most European men are accustomed to, according to Real Men Real Style. It's also known as the slip knot and will work well for women.

3.) Braided Scarf - The most stylish trick, but it's also very easy to do. You can do a braided scarf if you want to look dressier and stay warm. Drape the scarf around your neck and make sure that the sides are even. Tie the scarf to the front of your neck and tighten it to the way you want it, then carefully loop the outer side to the inner side to create a second knot. Do this again for two or three more times, depending on how you would want to style the braided scarf. You can leave the edges unbraided, pin a brooch on it or just tuck this in your coat.
