Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton has hired a research firm to dig through Vice President Joe Biden's record to find political dirt that can be used to discredit him if he ends up hopping into the 2016 race.

The organization, pro-Clinton super PAC Correct the Record, has reportedly been coordinating with the Clinton campaign for the past month, according to a report by New York magazine's Gabriel Sherman.

The group has unearthed information on Biden's close ties to Wall Street, his reluctance to support the raid in Pakistan that killed Osama bin Laden in 2011, and how Biden handled the 1991 Anita Hill hearings when he was chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, according to Sherman.

So far, Clinton has offered nothing but praise for Biden in public, but the effort goes to show how concerned the former secretary of state is about Biden challenging her for the Democratic nomination.

In an effort to prevent Biden from entering the race, Clinton has also been quietly attempting to portray her dominance of the Democratic Party and discourage people from donating to and endorsing Biden, according to an Associated Press report from August.

Several polls have shown that Biden will take significant support away from Clinton if he does enter the race, while her other main rival, Sen. Bernie Sanders, would improve in his standings, noted Newsmax.

An NBC News/Wall Street Journal/Marist poll from Sunday found Clinton leading in Iowa among potential Democratic electorates, with 47 percent, compared to Sanders' 36 percent. But when Biden was tossed into the mix, Clinton's lead dropped to 33 percent, compared to Sanders with 28 percent and Biden with 22 percent.

In New Hampshire, Sanders led the pack with 48 percent, compared to Clinton's 39 percent. When Biden was included, Sanders took an even greater lead over Clinton, with 42 percent, while Clinton dropped to 28 percent and Biden came in with 18 percent support.
