Dropbox announced a new update Monday that allows users to automatically save screenshots to their accounts and Mac users can copy all photos from iPhoto directly in to Dropbox accounts.

The popular cloud storage service Dropbox rolled out a small yet very useful update for all its consumers. Along with uploading photos and videos to the cloud one can now automatically save screenshots directly to the Dropbox accounts.

Users can take a screenshot on a computer and Dropbox will automatically save it in a secure cloud storage, in addition to creating a link to the saved screenshot and copying it to the clipboard. This makes it easier for people to share the image.

"Whether you're capturing screenshots of websites, favorite dog videos, or video calls with your buddy in São Paulo, now Dropbox can help keep your computer a little more organized," Dropbox said in a blog post.

Dropbox surprised Mac owners by rolling out a new option to copy all photos from their iPhoto gallery directly in to Dropbox, letting one create a new folder for different events. The feature is compatible with iPhoto 7.0.

"A lot goes into keeping all your photos in one place and always having them handy to share, and we hope small improvements like these return that time to you," Dropbox said. "This way you can focus on taking photos and screenshots-and let Dropbox take care of the rest."

Dropbox has also added OS X 10.9 Mavericks support and faster download and upload speeds for large files, according to its release notes.

In July, Dropbox expanded its sync feature letting users sync games, email apps, settings and other programs with a new tool, Datastore API. This allows resuming a gaming state from the same level once synced on a Dropbox hard drive, even if accessed from a different device.

Users can download the latest Dropbox Version 2.4.0 for Mac, Linux, Windows and Mobile from its official installation site.
