There hasn't been a lot of good news for fans of the Philadelphia Eagles the day after the team choked away a 24-20 loss to the NFC East rival Washington Redskins, but there was a small bit of positivity amidst the rank and rancor. Offensive tackle Lane Johnson, who left the game against Washington late after suffering a knee injury, underwent an MRI on Monday which revealed a sprained MCL and a sprained ankle, per Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer. Despite the injuries, Johnson is expected to suit up next week when the Eagles take on the New Orleans Saints.

Johnson's injury capped off an abysmal day and a rough couple of weeks for the Eagles offensive line. Tackle Jason Peters also went down with a quad injury during the Washington game, an injury he later deemed "nothing serious," only a week after the team lost starting right guard Andrew Gardner for the year.

With the Philly offensive line already struggling both to protect quarterback Sam Bradford - Bradford was sacked five times on Sunday - and open holes in the running game - DeMarco Murray, Ryan Mathews and Darren Sproles combined for 73-yards on the ground against Washington - the loss of Peters and/or Johnson would likely have proven devastating to the team's chances as they look to fight their way back from a 1-3 start.

With their two top tackles in the lineup this weekend, injuries or no, the Eagles should at least have a chance to right the ship.
