Free agent running back Ahmad Bradshaw will visit his former team, the Indianapolis Colts, on Monday, according to Pro Football Talk.

The Colts are at the bottom of the league in terms of rushing yards per game, and an addition like Bradshaw could help improve their ground game. The Colts signed running back Frank Gore this offseason, and he has produced a bit, averaging 4.2 yards per carry with two touchdowns this season.

Indianapolis is likely trying to be smart with Gore, as he is 32 years old, but is a running back that it will need in the postseason. Backing up Gore on the depth chart is rookie running back Josh Robinson, who hasn't played well yet this season. On 14 carries, Robinson has averaged just 2.4 yards per carry, and Indianapolis is likely looking for viable backup with Bradshaw.

Bradshaw is 29 years old, but can probably still have an impact in the league. Last season with the Colts, he rushed for 425 yards, and averaged 4.7 yards per carry. A fractured fibula ended Bradshaw's season with the Colts last year, as he was placed on injured reserve.

Bradshaw was a two-time Super Bowl champion with the New York Giants, and can be a powerful small back. He has dealt with injuries throughout his career, which could worry the Colts. But, he may also be exactly what the Colts need - a punishing running back that can blow through tacklers much bigger than him.

It's unclear yet if Indianapolis will move to sign its former player, but he could provide a much-needed boost to the ground game.
