A grand jury indicted Shayanna Jenkins, the fiancée of Aaron Hernandez, for perjury last week in connection with the Odin Lloyd murder investigation.  In light of her indictment, below are five things known about the mother of Hernandez's child.

1.  Bristol County District Attorney Sam Sutter announced on Friday the indictment of Jenkins for one count of perjury.  Sutter didn't specify how Jenkins perjured herself.  Jenkins was one of three people handed indictments in connection to the Lloyd investigation.  The district attorney's office released a statement and said, "...no further comment on the new indictments can be made at this time."

Jenkins is scheduled to be arraigned on Oct. 15.  The arraignment is expected to be public.

2.  Based on court documents released in August, investigators believe Jenkins may have hid the weapon used to murder Lloyd.

Carlos Ortiz, who's charged as an accessory to murder after the fact, told police Hernandez hid at least one weapon in a box in the ex-NFL star's basement.  On June 18, court documents indicate, according to the Hartford Courant, a "cryptic" exchange of text messages between Hernandez and Jenkins.  The messages mention a box in the basement.

Surveillance video then appears to show Jenkins later in the day carrying a bag containing a "rigid object" to her car.  She puts the object in the trunk of her car and drives away.  When she later returns, the video footage shows the object is no longer present in her trunk.

The .45 caliber pistol that police believe killed Lloyd hasn't been recovered.

3.  Jenkins, 24, and Hernandez were high school sweethearts.  They both graduated in 2007 from Bristol Central High, according to Heavy.com.  Jenkins and Hernandez had a child, Avielle Janelle, together on Nov. 6, 2012.  Up until Hernandez's arrest in June, the family had been living together in North Attleborough, Mass.

4.  Hernandez and Lloyd met through Jenkins' sister, who was dating Lloyd.  Jenkins had been cooperating with investigators until Hernandez, then in custody, called Jenkins and instructed her to stop talking.  At some point, Jenkins told police she believed Lloyd used and sold marijuana

5.  Police have never officially ruled Jenkins as a suspect in the homicide investigation.  Her indictment on Friday was the first charge against her in regard to the Lloyd case.
