A firm in San Francisco has created the Looncup, the world's first smart menstrual cup, able to track menstrual cycles, alert users when its full and predict illness, according to Engadget.

Created by Loon Labs, the Looncup is able to use its triaxial, RGB and force sensors to give users a customized experience that is as unique as their body's monthly cycle.

The cup uses a specially formulated algorithm to establish user data, which can sync with a smartphone via Bluetooth, according to Daily Mail.

The cup can make life easier for women by alerting them when it is getting full, analyzing the color of their menstruation for sickness prevention and health and predicting when the cycle is likely to start and finish.

"...What if we could relieve the monthly stress and take back our freedom?" said the firm. "A healthy period means our body is doing what it's supposed to. It can even give us valuable health info, and with a Looncup, we can take advantage of that."

The group created a Kickstarter to help fund the project, with a goal of making at least $50,000. Those who donate early will be able to get the device at the lower price of $30.
