Porsche has unveiled the latest 2014 911 Turbo and Turbo S Cabriolet high-performing convertibles. The 911 Turbo Cabriolet starts at $160,700 while the Turbo S Cabriolet is placed at a higher $193,900 price tag.

Porsche is expanding its 911 lineup with two new 2014 models, the 911 Turbo and 911 Turbo S Cabriolet, marking the 50-year anniversary of 911 and 40-year anniversary of the 911 Turbo debut. The German car maker revealed the details on the pricing and the specifications of both its models in a press release, last Monday. The two powerful and efficient models by Porsche pack a few similarities but the 911 Turbo S Cabriolet is more powerful and is priced in a higher range compared to its Turbo counterpart.

Under The Hood

Porsche 911 Turbo and Turbo S Cabriolet convertibles are elegantly designed and engineered perfectly for a thrill ride. Both models share a 3.8-liter 6-cylinder twin-turbocharged engine clubbed with a seven-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission to supply power to all four wheels via the new PTM all-wheel drive system. The 911 Turbo Cabriolet can clock initial speed of 0-60 mph at 3.3 seconds and the 911 Turbo S Cabriolet can do the same at 3.1 seconds, reaching top-speeds of 195mph. Both models are 0.2 seconds faster in achieving the initial speed compared to their predecessors. The powerful engines fitted in both models delivers 520 hp for the 911 Turbo and 560 hp for the S model. Most impressively, both models are EPA-rated to achieve 17mpg in city limits and 24mpg in the highway.

Exterior Design

 As for the exterior design, both new models are 1.1 in wider at the rear fenders compared to the new 911 Carrera 4/S models. The 2014 models are beautifully equipped with retractable fabric roof a lightweight magnesium frame, which can be operated while driving up to 30mph and needs 30 seconds for closing and opening.

Interior Appeal

Porsche has included the Black/Carrera Red and adaptive Sport Seats Plus and 18-way adjustment and memory. For music lovers, it is equipped with top-end Bose sound system and for comfort and safe driving, both models can be fitted with optional radar-controlled adaptive Cruise Control system, camera-based road sign and speed limit recognition function, and reverse camera.

The 2014 Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet will be launched in the U.S. early next year, carrying a hefty price tag of $160,700, while the Turbo S model will put a bigger hole in your pocket costing at least $193,900. The prices are exclusive of the $950 destination charge. Both models are slated for a December 2013 release in the U.K. with a starting price tag of £126,766 GBP for the 911 Turbo Cabriolet and £149,511 GBP for the Turbo S model. Both models will make their global debut at the Los Angeles International Auto Show on November 20, 2013, according to the Atlanta-based sports car maker.
