David West made headlines this offseason when he turned down his $12 million option with the Indiana Pacers so that he could join the San Antonio Spurs for the veteran's minimum of $1.5 million. West is chasing a championship and doesn't care what he has to do to get that ring so giving up the money was no big deal to him. Another thing West kind of gave up was Twitter and the inspiration for him to stop using Twitter as much as he used to was Drake's song "Back To Back," according to Jabari Young of the San Antonio Express News, which is a diss of fellow rapper Meek Mill.

In the song there is a line where Drake says "Trigger fingers turn to Twitter fingers" which was aimed at Meek Mill after he went off on Drake because he felt he didn't write his verse on Meek's album "Dreams Worth More Than Money." That lyric made West think and caused him to layoff Twitter a little bit.

"I don't want to be that Twitter fingers type dude no more. Something about that lyric just. I'm not going to be typing. You want to ask me a question, you want to talk about something, talk to me," said West

West feels that if you have a question for him then ask him in person because he doesn't want to be on Twitter responding to trolls or people just trying to get under his skin. For people on Twitter that don't have access to him in person it's much easier said than done but his point is well taken. Often times professional athletes have no filter on Twitter and get ticked off by what a fan says and it gets them in some trouble so West is trying to avoid that altogether.

West is now  35 years old and is entering his 13th season in the NBA the last four of which he spent with the Pacers. West will be coming off the bench for Spurs providing toughness, leadership and a killer mid-range jumper. West has one thing on his mind as the NBA season is set to begin, winning a championship, and he won't let anything, including Twitter, get in his way of that.
