The unfortunate rookie season for Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Breshad Perriman has apparently gotten worse. Perriman, the Ravens first-round pick in April, is now out indefinitely after reinjuring his PCL during pregame warmups on Sunday, according to a report from Ian Rapoport of NFL.com. Per Rapoport, Perriman has already undergone arthroscopic surgery under the capable hands of renowned orthopedist Dr. James Andrews.

Perriman, a relative unknown to most of the NFL viewing public prior to an absolutely stunning performance at the UCF pro day, rocketed up draft boards after he posted a blazing 4.25 40-yard-dash time. He was already considered a high-level prospect after nabbing 50 receptions for 1,044-yards, a 20.9 yards-per-reception average, during his final season at UCF, but the elite speed he displayed had NFL talent evaluators salivating and eventually pushed the playmaker-starved Ravens to select him during this past April's first-round.

Unfortunately, Perriman's NFL career has gotten off to quite an inauspicious start. He injured his knee in late July and while Baltimore head coach John Harbaugh seemingly waived the potential severity of the injury away at the time, reports immediately thereafter suggested that Perriman's knee injury could prove far more "troublesome" than Harbaugh had let on.

It was reported earlier this month that Perriman was expected to return in Oct. and Perriman even made an appearance at practice for the Ravens this past week ahead of their matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Unfortunately, with the re-aggravation of his injury, it seems Perriman's NFL debut will have to wait even longer and Baltimore's already-difficult season and shortage of outside receiving talent beyond the ageless Steve Smith Sr., will continue.
