Tom Daley and Dustin Lance Black are getting married. The 21-year-old Olympic diver and 41-year-old director/screenwriter announced their engagement in the births, marriages, and death season of The Times of London Thursday.

"The engagement is announced between Tom, son of Robert and Debra Daley of Plymouth, and Lance, son of Jeff Bisch of Philadelphia and Anne Bisch of Lake Providence," the announcement read, according to Us Weekly.

Daley's mother opened up to The Plymouth Herald about her "extreme excitement" over her son's upcoming nuptials.

"The whole family is extremely excited and looking forward to the big day," she said. "They are going to wait until after the [2016] Olympic Games in Rio before they decide on the date of the wedding and where they want to marry... Training has always come first for him. Once Rio is out of the way, they will properly plan the wedding."

Daley came out via YouTube in December 2013 after rumors about his sexuality began circulating online.

"In an ideal world I wouldn't be doing this video because it shouldn't matter but recently I was misquoted in an interview and it made me feel really angry and frustrated, and emotions that I've never felt before when reading something about myself, and for me honesty is something that I really do believe in," he said in the video at the time. "I've been dating girls and I've never really had a serious relationship to talk about and now I feel kind of ready to talk about my relationships."

Daley and Black started were first romantically linked in the summer of 2013. Olympic bronze medal winner spoke to BuzzFeed this past June about possible settling down and one day starting a family, saying, "I would like to get married. Of course, I'd like to have children, too. I grew up with two brothers, so I'd like to have at least three."
