Barnes & Noble has slashed the prices of its NOOK Simple Touch GlowLight in the U.K. much ahead of Christmas. The eReader is available for only $78 (£49) while stocks last.

Barnes & Noble, the world's largest bookseller and leading retailer of content, has the biggest discount on its NOOK Simple Touch GlowLight in preparation for an early Christmas sale. The retailer announced Tuesday that all leading retail outlets will have the NOOK Simple Touch GlowLight on sale for only $78 (£49), making it the only eReader in the U.K. to sell under $80 (£50).

The Barnes & Noble NOOK Simple Touch GlowLight is a wonderful companion for reading in bed or bright sun. The eReader is packed with great features such as Easy-to-Adjust GlowLight and its perfect illumination of soft light for bed-time reading. It sports advanced 6-inch E-Ink display, which gives paper-like reading experience with sharp and clear text, even if the GlowLight is on or off.

The NOOK has a sleek design for comfortable holding and is light weight for long-hour reading. The device is smaller than an average story book and user can change fonts from "Extra Extra Large" to "Extra Extra Small" based on convenience. The NOOK is packed with one of the most efficient batteries, which can last up to 30 hours. It supports Wi-Fi and up to 32GB memory via microSD card.

"No other eReader in the UK anywhere near this price has an integrated light, sits comfortably and lightly in the hand and has a battery that will last up to two months," Jim Hilt, Managing Director, Barnes & Noble S.à.r.l., said in a press release "It's an unbeatable value for one of our best-loved and most highly acclaimed products, making now the perfect time to choose an eReader for yourself or for your favorite reader as an early Christmas present."

While the NOOK offer has hit the U.K. stores, other markets like the United States sell the device for $92.39 via Amazon. But if U.K. buyers are willing to grab one of the NOOKs then they must hurry because the offer lasts only while stocks last. Customers can pick the eReader from any leading retail store including Argos, ASDA direct, Blackwell's, Currys PC World, FOYLES, John Lewis, Sainsbury's and VERY.
